A personal blog of a creatively curious girl named Kya.

I basically opened Illustrator with the intention of creating an artwork, but I wasn’t sure what. I found myself sketching the head, then kind of fell into a morbid/depressed character. I kept the character dark, but I also wanted to include something that would signal hope, but seem completely out of place with the image, because hope and happiness can often seem that way when you feel so low.

These are rather quick, which seems to be my level of patience for creating most works lately. :P

    Drawing is a therapy!
I want to print the second one and attach it to the front door or my house hehehe!

@Evelyn, I have to seriously agree with you! Drawing really is a great way to be able to exspress emotions you are feeling and be able to esxape the thoughts and problems that are making life hard.

I like them! The creepy dude is my fave – I like his balloon. :)

I just started really trying to do drawings myself in Inkscape. I’ve never used Illustrator, though. I think they’re pretty similar.

I LOVE the first one. You’re right hope and happiness are at the string of a balloon when you’re feeling low. When you feel like things will never get better.

Not to scare you, but the weird dude looks like an alien. *tiptoes away*

I love the ciggs one, I’ll have to show the sister (who is also a smoker)! :D She paints, and she painted a drawing of herself blowing out smoke that said, “I don’t taste like an ashtray”, it was cute!

Lovely art. :) The first one is a little depressing/horror-like, but the second one can really be turn into a card to append on a office wall. You always have such amazing ideas, you know ^_^ *hugs*
