Christmas 2014

I hope everyone had a really nice Christmas and enjoyed spending time with family, friends or however you chose. If you exchange gifts, I hope you got some lovely presents!

It was a nice day for me, spent with mum and dad. I received a TV for my bedroom along with wireless headphones so I can spend time gaming in my room on my PS3. I also got an owl calendar, some notebooks and a cute owl money box.

Christmas Card Exchange

Hello everyone, my blog had been offline for a little while as I was moving hosts. I plan to talk about that in another post.

I also made a new site called Cute Magic. >.<

Christmas is not far away and I would love to see if anyone is interested to exchange snail mail cards with me?

This year I had a new design printed in postcard form. I am quite happy with how it turned out. Here is a sneak.

If you are interested just leave a comment and I will email you, or send an email to kya@love.com and I will get back to you. :]

I may not be able to afford to send a card to everyone, but please ask and I will do my best. :3

Questions:
1. Want to exchange cards?
2. Are you sending cards this year?
3. Do you include anything with your cards? (I usually like to include a note and a little gift, I think it’s fun.)
4. What is on your Christmas wishlist?

Merry Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you had a really wonderful time. Christmas day for me was a nice day spent with my mum and dad. We opened gifts, had some food and enjoyed each others company. Unfortunately dad had to go back to work on Christmas day so that was a bummer. Mum and I also carried on the tradition and watched many movies in the afternoon/night. It has always been something we enjoy, not just on Christmas, but a lot of the time, since I was a child.

I was not expecting any gifts, I was more excited about giving mum her new camera (Canon EOS 600D). She really loved it. So I was glad. However, I did get a lot of cute little gifts (which include a lot of owl things). You could say it was a hoot*.

Get ready for an overload of images below. ;D

My christmas designs, printed :D

My Christmas designs arrived and I am really happy with the result. I decided on the four final designs from all of your help, and what I liked too. Plus, I decided to have a notepad and stickers made. Even though the notepad is not really ‘Christmas related‘ it has to make an appearance. I don’t intend to sell them, just to share cards with friends/family and maybe include some stickers and a note with them. :D If you are interested in exchanging cards, let me know.

It might be a bit hard to tell, but the cards are also glossy and feel nice to touch.

Yay, giraffe Santa!

All the stars! :D

This photo kind of went a bit noodley and made the quality look eh. It looks better in ‘real life’. xD

Your friendly Christmas tree.

A fun little notepad I designed. I made the contrast of the design lighter, so you could see what you are writing haha. I also realised it’s a bit crooked. But, cute giraffe!

Loveable star stickers. I really love this and think they are my favourite thing (I do have a sticker collecting problem).

I am happy with how all of the designs turned out and can’t wait to post them off. I had all of my cards/designs printed with Vistaprint, price was good and they shipped really really fast! Might be a cool option for anyone in Australia looking to have designs printed. The only bummer is, when you upload a design, you can’t see a quality preview, they make you pay for that. But if you upload high quality files (for my designs I usually use the .ai, illustrator file) there is no problem.

«Blog Title for the masses.»

Thank you so very much for the opinions on my previous post, on which Christmas illustrations you liked best. I ordered four different designs, plus a sticker sheet and a notepad. I am excited to see them all when they arrive (I’ll make a post about that with pictures). I don’t have plans to sell them, just to give out. So if you are interested in exchanging cards with me, please contact me.

I would like to wish a very happy birthday to my dear friend Nicole and a belated birthday to Raine. :D

I didn’t end up winning a place in the top three in the competition I entered, but that is fine. I am truly happy that I was a semi-finalist. :D

Hello November!

Wow, November is already here. That means Christmas is almost here and I need to think about what design to make for holiday inspired cards. I think I might create two designs. One cute and the other a little bit simple/indie/hipster/pretty/girly (is that a thing?). I also must have these printed not the week before Christmas….

Another cool thing happened. The photograph I entered into the competition on deviantART was selected as one of the semi-finalists! I am really chuffed that I did make the semi-finalist list. I don’t think I will place in the top three, but that doesn’t matter because being a semi-finalist is a big honour to me. It was also one of the few times I have tried to enter a creative competition, maybe I should look for more photography competitions either local or Australian wide?

If you like to write, November also means something a little special. National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Write 50,000 words in one month and have yourself a novel! I have been trying at this for years and have never reached the 50,000 word mark, but it has been good (and sometimes frustrating) as a creative challenge. If you are also taking part you can follow my profile kyabean.

Lastly, my friend Claire created a blog. ALL THE STALKS? ;D

Christmas Card Design 2012

Each year I love to design my own christmas cards and have them printed. This year I designed a card featuring three giraffes. It is a lot of fun to create your own cards and see them printed, I think it makes the whole process of sending them even more special. The christmas card was designed with Illustrator, however I have still not had them printed (I better hurry I know). Hopefully in the next few days I will.

What do you do for christmas?
Send cards, presents or something else?  :)
